Thrift Store Haul

Just wanted to show off all the things I bought at Value Village last weekend! My friend and I went, and got a whole cartful (mostly hers). I bought a few things that I'm really excited about.

First there's the flowered cotton skirt that I already chopped up (you can see my refashion here).

It was actually really hard to find stuff that was vintage and not stuff you can buy at the mall (some of which were as, or more, expensive as the stuff you can get on sale at Sirens!!)

So I was really excited by this dress:

It is super soft fabric and had pockets (you can see how excited I am about that fact in the last picture). You can't really see, but it also has black fabric covered buttons on the collar. And it fit me to a T, so no refashion necessary.

This next one is definitely a refashion though:

The colour is a bit off in the photo, it is a deeper blue. It has lovely crochet sleeve and collar embellishments and vintage button (both of which I am going to harvest off the dress). It even has shoulder pads (those are coming right off)! I'm thinking a peplum dress for this one.

This next one I was so excited to make a soft summer dress out of that I cut it up before I remembered to take a picture.

It's an XL men's T-shirt in a gorgeous orange (it is a lot paler in real life). I got kinda stuck though when the shoulders of the dress didn't come out right, but I plan to finish this dress this weekend. So there is another refashion post coming real soon.

Again with the poor lighting, the color of the bottom skirt part is dark green and it is velvet. The tie is attached and it has a darling little pearl in the middle. It is very loose in the middle, and really short (both in total length and especially at the sleeves). I'm not sure what exactly I'm going to do to improve it without losing length (maybe make it into shorts?) but I'm sure I will think of something.

This next one here is one that my friend bought, I'm pretty sure as a joke ("we can't not get this.") Let me prepare you for the horror you are about to witness. Polyester, blindingly bright colours, and a skirt that I'm pretty sure was a sleeping bag in a past life.

And I'm going to leave you with that.

Good night.
